Position
- Responsible for all instrumentation and field analyzers, both analog and discrete, and electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic or mechanical.
- Responbile for creating/updating documentation (computerized databases, overseeing CAD drawing activities) and purchase requisitions.
- Control and safety-relief valves -- design requirements and maintenance assistance.
- Interface and communicate non-routine activities between operations and I&E craftsmen.
- Power distribution (<= 69KV), switching, grounding and usage (including variable speed drives and motors).
- Direct current power supplies and circuits for instrumentation, DCS and PLC systems and relay interlocks/shutdowns.
- Perform RCFA when required on I&E equipment.
- Mentor and tutor instrument technicians and electricians with troubleshooting approaches, new installations, drawings, specifications, etc.
- Manage small in-house I&E projects and oversee larger projects by E&C firms.
- Identify and evaluate alternate measurement and control schemes.
- Understand company HSE practices, policies and procedures, including the impact of I&E equipment and operations.
- Coverage on a 7X24 hour basis as required.
Experience
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5 to 7 years of related experience in power electrical and process instrumentation and control.
- Experience with the technical design.
- Experience with support of petro-chemical or batch operations.
- Basic knowledge of distributed control systems and programmable logic controllers.
- Basic knowledge of Siemens-Moore DCS experience is desirable.
- Must be able to support daily operations and perform short-term projects.
- Prior experience interfacing with operators, craftsmen, staff engineers, engineering contractors, vendor field engineers and sales representatives is preferred.
