Software Engineer (C++/Solaris, Core Network)

Position

The Senior Software Engineer will develop software architectures and designs for carrier grade wireless telecom products. He/she will be an important member of the product development team and will be responsible for development of software products and components in a dynamic software development organization.

• Analyze product requirements and create functional/feature specifications for mobile location services and related technologies, products, and solutions
• Create new software designs and/or evolve existing designs to meet customer requirements and deliver products and solutions in an efficient manner
• Implement key software components and test/integrate with product sub -systems
• Review of software design and customer documentation
• Review of system test specifications

Experience

• BS or MS Degree in Computer Science
• Minimum of 5 years of software product development experience
• Strong C/C++ programming skills in SUN Solaris and Linux development environment is required
• Knowledge of object-oriented design and methodology is required
• Understanding of and development experience in wireless standards/protocols - preferably GSM and/or UMTS at both network and radio interface levels
• Experience building enterprise class multi-threaded, scalable server applications is a plus
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and network programming using sockets is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement new software functionality as well as enhance and sustain existing software products
• Project leadership skills are a plus
• US citizenship is highly preferred. Permanent US residency is minimally required
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and willingness to stretch to achieve aggressive goals
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Work diligently and accurately under time constraints and deadlines
• Ability to work/coordinate with off-shore teams
