Product System Design Engineer

Position

Senior system designer: 10 - 15 years experience in product definition, design, implementation, verification, and release to production of telecommunications systems involving integrated RF, RF power amplifiers, mixed signal analog, high speed digital ASICs, switching power supplies, and platform and application control software

Experience

• BSEE or MSEE
• Product definition. Define the product and create requirement specifications. Perform system architecture tradeoffs for hardware, software, and firmware partitioning to best optimize the product. Specification and selection of subsystems and RF and mixed signal components.
• System integration and test. Hands on integration of all aspects of product development. Subsystem verification, integration of subsystems into system, system bring up, hardware/software/firmware integration, and system design verification and characterization. 
• Derivative platform definition and development. Define changes to existing platforms to meet specific customer requirements. Perform required implementation tradeoffs, implementation, integration, and design characterization 
• Cost reduction. Introduce cost reduced platforms to production. Perform cost reduction investigations and tradeoffs and implement and characterize the designs 
• Technical customer support. Provide detailed customer support including technical proposals and answers to customer inquiries 
• Design for cost, performance, reliability, and high volume manufacturing. 
• Design documentation. Specifications, system tradeoffs, schematics, characterization reports 
• 10+ years of proven design experience in related areas 
• Solid hands on design expertise in RF circuits, RF systems, mixed signal analog circuits, and applied signal processing techniques common to RF telecommunications systems 
• WCDMA, LTE, cdma2000, WiMAX, and comparable 3G standards expertise preferred 
• Basestation design expertise preferred 
• Superior organization and communication skills
