Software Engineer (C++/Solaris)

Position

This position will play a key role in the development and delivery of quality wireless telecom carrier grade products. The Senior Software Engineer will develop software architectures and designs for carrier grade wireless telecom products. They will be an important member of the product development team and will be responsible for development of software products and components in a dynamic software development organization. Key responsibilities include:

• Analyze product requirements and create functional/feature specifications for mobile location services and related technologies, products, and solutions
• Create new software designs and/or evolve existing designs to meet customer requirements and deliver products and solutions in an efficient manner
• Implement key software components and test/integrate (sub-) systems
• Review of software design and customer documentation
• Review of system test specifications

Experience

• BS CS/EE (MS preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years of software product development experience involving complex algorithmic implementations and high volume data
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement new software functionality as well as enhance and sustain existing software products
• Solid software engineering fundamentals and experience developing complex systems software in C/C++ in UNIX environment
• Shell/Perl scripting experience required
• Experience in developing scalable, reliable and robust software products that operate in highly available (HA) environments
• Wireless telecom domain experience is a plus
• Background/experience in RF propagation/cellular radio technology is highly desirable
• Matlab experience desirable
• GUI, data rendering, and display expertise desireable
• Experience working with digital maps and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) a big plus
• Sound knowledge of formal software development processes is required
• Project leadership skills are a plus
• Excellent communication skills required
• US citizenship is highly preferred. Permanent US residency is minimal requirement
